ABOUT US
Brandi Lynn Borgia of Olmsted Falls, OH began rescuing homeless cats and kittens living near her home in October 2009. This has been a daunting task, however worth it when the cats and kittens are adopted into loving homes. This is not an official rescue and only 1 - 2 cats can be saved at a time until a building is donated and or people volunteer to foster displaced cats and kittens.
This whole operation began with two ladies, Kim Mozena being the other half, however she recently moved out of state and Brandi is left alone to continue this important endeavor. So far this entire cat rescue has been funded out of pocket with zero donations.
It started in August 09 when Brandi and Kim noticed kittens and cats colonized on a nearby parking lot. The cats and kittens sought shelter under cars and were obviously struggling and hungry, so they began feeding them. There were at least 35 cats living in this parking lot and no one was doing anything about it. They had no shelter, regular access to food and water, and with summer about to end, i.e. the warm weather, Kim and Brandi took matters into their own hands.
They didn't know what we were doing, and before they knew it became master trappers, trainers, vet techs, & adoption workers! Because they had no idea what they were getting themselves into, it wasn't considered how much money it would take. It's not always as simple as a cheap spay/neuter/vaccinate. Most homeless cats have at least one ailment that needs medical treatment and we treat them. So please visit our donations page!
Brandi is trying to find a building, or barn to operate an Olmsted Falls Animal Rescue in; however, funds are desperately needed. This is a grassroots movement in the making, please considering joining forces with us as a volunteer.
Olmsted Falls has grown into a big city and with growth comes big city responsibilites. We not only need the support of our mayor and city council members, but our residents! When the rescue has its own building, Olmsted Falls Cat Rescue will also rescue stray dogs. |
